We dreamed of amber follies
and cherry blossom kisses,
melting into dazzling blue;
I remember wading through
oceans of lilac bushes
hand in hand with you;
The first morning
was etched in our memories,
The sharp, sweet taste of blue;
Promises waiting to be made,
tarried on the fringes of winter;
Change came swiftly, playfully
and toyed with our hearts,
While the stars held their breath
and the cosmos tiptoed
on the threshold of something new;
Moments were frozen as the earth
rolled under wave after wave
of lives, loves and laughter;
They sprang forth with abandon and briefly,
Even the darkest corners
of the human heart blossomed
with unfettered beatitude.
