Halfway down a
Long forgotten road,
A chaotic silence
Begins to breathe upon
My brow;
When the earth becomes
The crystalline surface
Of early morning water,
I find myself staring
Into the mouth
Of the abyss;
And while her heart
Is hard with violent rage,
She brings me songs
To fashion into stars;
And the day moon
Looks down upon us
With vast indifference.
